Frequently Asked Questions
-
The TTFP is designed primarily for people with disability who are planning for tertiary study or training and want clearer, practical information to support informed decision-making and preparation.
It may also benefit people without disability who want clearer information to inform their tertiary transition planning.
The TTFP is suitable for secondary school students preparing for the transition from school and mature students considering tertiary study or training.
The profile provides practical information across career pathway fit, study participation and sustainability, and readiness for study, supporting planning before significant time, money and energy are committed to a pathway.
-
The TTFP is an Occupational Therapist-led functional profile that brings together information across Career Pathway Fit, Study Participation and Sustainability, and Readiness for Study.
It identifies participation patterns, potential pressure points, and practical strategies or conditions for consideration or trial to support informed planning for tertiary study or training.
Where disability-related functioning is relevant, it is considered within the context of tertiary transition planning. The TTFP is non-diagnostic and non-therapeutic, is not a Functional Capacity and Support Needs Assessment, and does not determine funded disability support needs.

The TTFP may be considered for NDIS funding where it is relevant to the participant’s disability-related needs, supports a relevant employment, work or study-related NDIS goal, and is appropriate to the participant’s plan and circumstances.
Potential claiming pathways are limited to:
Finding and Keeping a Job: 10_617_0128_5_3_NF, Employment Therapy - Occupational Therapist - Non-Face-to-Face
Improved Daily Living Skills: 15_617_0128_1_3_NF, Therapy - Occupational Therapist - Non-Face-to-Face
Depending on the participant’s funding arrangements, the TTFP may be invoiced under either support item or apportioned across both.
The participant-specific funding position should be confirmed with the participant’s Plan Manager and/or Local Area Coordinator before proceeding. Further enquiries may also be made directly with the NDIS where clarification is required.
If the participant does not currently have a relevant employment, work or study-related NDIS goal, or requires supporting documentation when seeking funding for the TTFP, Tertiary Transition may be able to provide a support letter where clinically appropriate. Relevant information can be provided through the referral form.
Tertiary Transition is not a registered NDIS provider and accepts NDIS-funded referrals from self-managed and plan-managed participants only.
